A Look Back: The 2024 Easton Hype Fire

The 2024 Easton Hype Fire was already a fan favorite, known for its powerful performance and balanced feel. Featuring a composite barrel and a stiff, optimized handle, it offered players exceptional control and pop. The bat’s seamless design ensured durability and a comfortable grip, making it a go-to for players at various skill levels. However, even the best bats can be improved, and Easton has done just that with the 2025 model.
What’s New in the 2025 Easton Hype Fire?

The 2025 version of the Hype Fire takes everything great about its predecessor and turns it up to level 11. Here’s what’s new:
- Advanced Thermal Composite Barrel: The 2025 Hype Fire features a new and improved thermal composite barrel. This material is lighter and more responsive, allowing for a faster swing speed and more explosive hits. The improved barrel also extends the sweet spot, giving you more room for error without sacrificing power.
- Stiffened Handle for Enhanced Feedback: While the 2024 model had a stiff handle, the 2025 version introduces a reinforced carbon handle that provides even more stiffness. This enhancement translates to better feedback on contact, helping players feel the ball more and make necessary adjustments during their swing.
- Optimized Swing Weight: Easton has fine-tuned the swing weight in the 2025 Hype Fire, ensuring that it caters to a broader range of players. Whether you prefer a balanced or end-loaded feel, this bat offers an ideal weight distribution to maximize control and power.
- Updated Vibration Dampening Technology: One of the standout features of the 2025 Hype Fire is its advanced vibration-dampening system. This technology minimizes the sting on mishits, providing a smoother, more comfortable experience for players, particularly during long games or cold weather.
The All-New USA Version

For the first time, the Easton Hype Fire lineup includes a USA Baseball-certified version. This new addition is designed for younger players in leagues that require USA Bat standards. Here’s what sets the USA version apart:
- Youth-Specific Barrel Design: The USA Hype Fire features a slightly smaller barrel diameter and a more forgiving sweet spot, tailored to younger players still developing their swing mechanics. This design helps promote better contact and boosts confidence at the plate.
- Lighter Swing Weight: The USA version is engineered to be more lightweight, making it easier for younger players to generate speed and control. This helps develop proper swing techniques without the strain of a heavier bat.
- Compliance with USA Bat Standards: The USA Hype Fire meets all the strict standards set by USA Baseball, ensuring that it’s legal for play in youth leagues nationwide. Parents and coaches can rest assured that players are using a bat that is both safe and effective.
Why Choose the 2025 Easton Hype Fire?

The 2025 Easton Hype Fire is more than just a bat—it’s a tool designed to elevate your game. With its advanced materials, optimized weight distribution, and player-friendly features, it offers a perfect blend of power, speed, and control. ]]>Welcome back fellow Headbangers to another exciting write-up! Today we will be discussing the VERY popular JBB and USSSA Baseball Bat, the 2024 Easton Hype Fire, which is offered as a JBB (-12), USSSA (-10), (-8), and (-5). Now, everyone has seen just how HOT out of the wrapper this bat is. Us as well as other retailers can’t keep our inventory in stock on these! But what makes these bats so hot out of the wrapper and what player will benefit the most from the Easton Hype Fire? That's what we will be discussing as well as some other details about the Hype Fire and what makes it so hot!

As the image above shows, there are a few upgrades to the 2024 model for the Easton Hype Fire versus last year's model of the Easton Hype. One notable change is the Redesigned barrel producing a larger sweet spot, incredibly well balanced swing feel, and a lower MOI than earlier iterations producing faster swing speeds and better barrel control. The combination of a higher performing barrel, larger sweet spot available as well as very low MOI gives the player a truly unbelievable performance that will fit any player of all ages, from power hitters to contact hitters alike.

Another notable feature in the 2024 Easton Hype Fire is the newly designed handle. Dubbed the “Optiflex Handle”, This handle has been specifically engineered PER drop and length to “optimize” the handle flex for each specific size producing the best performance and flexibility possible for every player.
Mating the barrel to handle you will find Easton’s newly redesigned “Connextion Max” shock absorbing collar which utilizes an elastomer connector optimizing the overall feel of the bat as well as eliminating vibrations from mishits. To further eliminate the shocks and vibrations from mishits you'll find the Power Boost Knob. Not only does it greatly aid in the total reduction of vibrations, but it also benefits a player by providing more leverage on their swing and provides a nice comfortable feel.

So to sum up with the Easton Hype Fire, this bat is HOT HOT HOT out of the wrapper. With a newly engineered, rigorously tested TCT barrel that provides low MOI, a balanced weight and a massive sweet spot as well as the finely optimized handle that has been properly tuned for each size to optimize the overall performance of the bat for each size available. The combination of all of this has produced arguably one of the hottest bats currently out on the market!

With all that being said, the reviews and smiles on customers’ faces and the performance we have seen in real gameplay speaks for itself. So if you are trying to get your hands on the all new 2024 Easton Hype fire, you are in luck! Here at Headbanger Sports we have a healthy stock on hand in all sizes! ]]>Welcome back fellow Headbangers! Today we have something very special for you! Introducing the ALL NEW Louisville Slugger 2024 Atlas BBCOR Baseball Bat. The 2024 Louisville Atlas BBCOR has been improved in durability as well as an increased sweet spot, off the charts pop and is EXTREMELY light and well balanced. This is an alloy bat you should NOT pass up, it's on another level!

Louisville has dedicated HUNDREDS of hours in manufacturing and testing on this bat to ensure its durability and pop are at the maximum while providing a MASSIVE sweet spot. Alongside that, the Atlas is designed utilizing insights from AI simulations, providing a variable barrel thickness along its entire length. This is what is creating that massive sweet spot and optimized performance as stated above.
As quoted by Louisville Slugger’s Director of Engineering James Earley, “We literally did thousands and thousands of design iterations using the computer to come up with the optimum performance profile for each bat length, …. We were able to manipulate the wall profile so that every spot on the barrel has great performance.”
So now that we got the Hype train going, let's talk about the specs regarding the 2024 Louisville Slugger Atlas BBCOR.

SPECS:
The Tuned Mass Dampener - The Ultimate Vibration Eliminator

I'm sure a lot of you guys are wondering or are asking yourselves, “Why would I get an alloy bat? My hands are just going to sting with every hit!” Well fear not because Louisville has engineered a clever fix to this all too common problem! As stated above in the Specs list, inside the upper handle is something Louisville calls the “Tuned Mass Dampener”. The Tuned Mass Dampener ( as shown in the image above ) is located in the upper handle right above where a normal player's hands will be positioned. How it functions is as the vibrations flow through the alloy material towards your hands, this clever device intercepts those vibrations preventing them from reaching the players hands! With this addition to Louisville’s new alloy baseball bats like the 2024 Atlas BBCOR, players can swing with confidence at the plate and can enjoy an unbelievable feel with every swing regardless of where they make contact with the ball.

With all that is said about the new 2024 Louisville Slugger Atlas BBCOR, it is working its way to the top of the list for alloy BBCOR baseball bats. Its hard to disregard the HUGE potential this bat provides with the EVOKE alloy providing insane pop and ear ringing sounds, to the Innovative Tuned Mass Dampener eliminating vibrations before getting to the players hands so you can swing with the utmost confidence every time you're at the plate. If you are in the market for a new Alloy BBCOR baseball bat, don’t overlook the new 2024 Atlas BBCOR and as always, swing by Headbangersports.com to get yours today!
]]>Welcome back fellow headbangers! In today’s writeup we will be discussing a few exciting things that will be coming out soon from Demarini, starting with the all new 2024 Voodoo One BBCOR Baseball bat! In this write-up, we will be breaking down the new Voodoo One, Demarini’s fully redesigned knob ( images and further information found below ), a fortified metal compound design, as well as an all new warranty program that demonstrates the confidence Demarini has in the durability of their new 2024 Baseball product line. So without further delay, let's start this out by going into the all new 2024 Demarini Voodoo One BBCOR that will be releasing on August 2nd at Midnight.
Before we get started, We actually Interviewed Adam Kopley, the Wilson Sporting Goods Global Associate Director of DeMarini and Louisville Slugger Baseball and Softball Bats, who went into GREAT detail on everything we are about to discuss in this write-up. Go check it out after this read to get a more in-depth look!
Watch The interview with Adam Kopley Here!
The 2024 Demarini Voodoo One BBCOR (-3)
To start off, The Voodoo line has always been a popular baseball bat from Demarini, but the 2024 model is pushing the engineering limits to the max. To start with the visual design, the golden silhouette of DeMarini’s Skully icon appears outlined on the “wood grain” styled barrel.
The barrel has a tapered construction that helps to mitigate hand sting while stockpiling hits. Being a one- piece alloy, you get the maximum stiffness, ultimate bat speed, and an ultra responsive feel.

The Voodoo One is engineered to fuel all types of players, from rising high school stars to the strongest college cleanup hitters, the Voodoo One utilizes a one-piece alloy design to deliver full control of its signature X14 Alloy Barrel. The weight distribution of the 2024 Voodoo one is just about as balanced as it can get. To ‘top’ it all off, the Tracer End Cap is one we are familiar with and is the perfect pairing for the x14 barrel. The Tracer End Cap is composed of lightweight composite materials to enhance bat speed while maintaining powerful barrel performance.
The ALL NEW Fortified Metal Compound Knob
Time for the real treat of this new Voodoo ( and all 2024 Baseball Bats from Demarini ), is the knob. As we know from last year's model, Some players experienced knob breakage in early usage of the voodoo one gold. The knobs used in that bat was a reinforced composite. Composite is a strong material, but can be brittle in certain circumstances. Demarini saw this flaw, took a step back and went to the drawing board with their engineering team. They produced a fortified metal compound that has been tested to withstand, well, most anything thrown at it.

The new knob consists of an aluminum core with a thermoplastic skin. Alongside the complete redesign and reinforcement of the knob, that added metal to the knob gives a slight weight which provides increased leverage through the player's swing.
Demarini’s new warranty program
One final thing to note about what’s coming out this year from Demarini is their warranty on BBCOR bats. Their new warranty now will cover multiple repairs or exchanges throughout the first year following the purchase of any stock or custom bat. That's correct, Demarini is SO confident in the engineering and durability of their bats that with your one year warranty you receive from the purchase of this bat, you aren’t limited to just one repair/warranty claim. It's uncapped for that one year duration!
Expect the 2024 Demarini Voodoo One BBCOR baseball bat to be live and available for purchase on August 2nd at midnight EST here at www.headbangersports.com!
The three-piece design is made up of a composite handle, an alloy barrel, and the VXC2 Vibration Control Connection Piece (For BBCOR, the 3FX-PWR Connection Piece is used) in between providing unmatched comfort without sacrificing stiffness for better energy transfer. The barrel is designed with EXD premium alloy, which creates a more durable and responsive barrel as well as increased barrel and sweet spot size.

The 2023 Louisville Slugger Select PWR Baseball Bat is designed with a balanced swing weight. The BBCOR model has a power swing weight that is achieved by placing more weight towards the end of the barrel, which helps create a more fluid swing. This weight distribution allows for more mass in the barrel, giving hitters more power behind their swing. This weight distribution also makes the bat more balanced, making it easier for the hitter to control the bat and make solid contact with the ball.
Another key feature of the Louisville Slugger Select PWR Baseball Bat is the SBD-Gen2 end cap. The SBD-Gen2 end cap is designed to increase the bat's swing speed as well as maximizing the barrel’s performance. The end cap also helps to reduce vibration upon contact, making it more comfortable for the hitter. The SBD-Gen2 end cap is made of a lightweight material, which helps to redistribute weight towards the end of the bat, creating a more fluid swing.

Some key features of the 2023 Louisville Slugger Select PWR Baseball Bat are:
In terms of sizing, the Louisville Slugger Select PWR Baseball Bat is available in a variety of lengths and weights. This allows hitters to choose the size and weight that is best for their individual needs and preferences. The bat is also available in -3 (BBCOR), -5, -8 and -10 weight drops, allowing hitters to choose the weight distribution that is best for their swing.
Please note! The BBCOR model is END-LOADED! Another difference is the connection piece, the 3FX-PWR Connection System.
Overall, the Louisville Slugger Select PWR Baseball Bat is a high-performance option for experienced hitters looking to take their game to the next level. The bat's three-piece construction, power swing weight, and SBD-Gen2 end cap work together to create a bat that maximizes energy transfer, reduces vibration upon contact, and increases swing speed. With a variety of sizing options available, hitters can choose the size and weight that best suits their individual needs.

There’s two factors here that need to be accounted for when it comes to how the cold weather affects the materials of a baseball and the baseball bat, that's right… The ball is greatly affected by the change in weather as well.
First thing to address is that the actual baseball gets harder in the cold weather. This is due to the exterior material of the ball tightening up and hardening with the colder temperature as well as the internal core of the ball becoming more dense. A harder ball equals more impact force on the surface area with not as much compression or give when hit. It's like hitting a hard rock coming at you at 60+ mph.
The second thing to address is that the composite and alloy materials become more rigid (composite much more so than alloy). Composite material is a lot like carbon fiber, being that it's a reinforced carbon fiber polymer which is strong, but very brittle. Composite material bats don’t do as well in cold because the composite material doesn’t expand or contract as much as alloy does with the temperature fluctuation. So the combination of a harder ball and a more brittle bat equals an expensive bat with a high possibility of “Shark toothing” (fractures in the composite where it will lift up) or breaking on impact. Now, with Alloy… you’ll have some more reliability in cold weather however this doesn’t mean alloy bats won’t become weaker in the cold weather but will provide a little more durability and flexibility than composites do. With Alloy, you’ll see more denting as the ball is harder and more dense.
- Offered for USSSA, USA and BBCOR

Just released, the Victus NOX 2 is here! Built with obnoxious speed, power and performance in mind. The NOX 2 two-piece hybrid baseball bat combines the latest bat tech with an aesthetic unlike anything else on the market - the NOX 2 is built for ballplayers from the inside out.
Featuring an end-loaded design equipped with a military-grade aluminum barrel and carbon composite handle connected by Victus’ Two Smooth Impact Connection system for reduced vibration during contact. The Marucci name has been heard throughout Baseball for years and their CAT series bats have been their top sellers, with the newest being the CATX. The 2023 Marucci CATX comes as a one piece alloy, a 2 piece hybrid called the connect (alloy barrel with a composite handle) and a full composite two piece called the CATX composite.
Now, as this topic is relative to what bat should be used in cold weather, for this suggestion, we say that the Alloy one piece as well as the connect are your better options due to the alloy material as well as the price difference from the full composite (as a worst case scenario).
The CATX made our list for a few reasons:

Off the charts swing speeds and exit velocities for travel ball’s top players. The 2023 Louisville Slugger Atlas Baseball Bat is engineered for elite hitters on the brink of high school play. The 2023 Easton Encore Hybrid is a unique bat with an insane crack when contact is made. As shown in the image above, the Encore hybrid is a two piece, hybrid barrel of alloy exterior barrel with a composite internal wall. Especially for cold weather, this will provide good barrel flex and durability against the colder weather and the harder baseballs.
Easton has engineered a unique combination of their widely popular R5 Alloy Barrel technology, then decided to thin it out by 30%. To reinforce that lost material, Easton internally reinforced and backed that alloy with their Thermo Composite Technology through the whole length of the barrel, from end cap all the way down to the handle where the connection piece is. This thinning out of the alloy and reinforcing it with their thermo composite material has created an ultra-thin barrel wall, a larger sweet spot as well as maximizing the trampoline effect you will get when hitting a ball, all while keeping up with the standard performance and durability everyone looks for. The PureLynk CXN joint, which is the main connection point from barrel to handle, maximizes the energy transfer of a player's swing as well as providing a very stiff feel for the player all the way through the ‘Pro-Stiff’ carbon handle. Speaking of the Pro-Stiff Carbon Handle, as stated on the Hype Comp, it is designed with extra stiff carbon fibers providing minimal flexibility and maximum rigidity and stiffness. Again, stated prior, Easton’s “Power Boost” Soft Knob Technology provides hitters with added leverage all while reducing overall vibration as well as providing a soft, cushiony feel for that bottom hand.
We chose the Easton Encore Hybrid due to a few specific features:
- Offered for USSSA, USA and BBCOR

]]>The Flared Knob is here! What’s different from the traditional Axe Handle?
As you might be familiar with, Axe handles are designed to promote safer and faster swings for players of all ages. Whether you're just starting out and want to develop a proper swing technique or have played for years and want a safer swing (a swing that doesn’t break/overlap your wrists, potentially causing damage to your wrists and forearms) or a faster, more accurate swing speed through the zone, Axe handles have helped thousands of players. But some aren’t comfortable with the Axe handle design even to the extent of saying that it feels “uncomfortable” or “not natural”. With the most recent handle design, the Flared Knob has confronted the negative feedback head on and produced an answer!
With the new flared knob, reports have already come in stating just how much better it feels. It's more comfortable to swing, feels more natural, almost effortless and free feeling when swinging through the zone. The image above is a comparison of the standard Axe handle on the 2023 Axe Avenge Pro Hybrid Vs the 2023 Axe Avenge Pro Hybrid Flared Knob.
First thing to notice is that the knob is far less dramatic than the standard handle, even though it still holds the overall Axe handle design and promotes much of the same benefits parents and players expect from an Axe handle. Towards the base of the handle, it tapers out more, giving a natural feel that frees up a hitter’s hands to maximize their swing speed as well as working with various types of grips (Even for slowpitch softball players that drop their pinky underneath). Lastly, it is slightly more rounded at the knob rather than squared out like the traditional style. The combination of these three main changes (Less dramatic design, more rounded knob and a flared taper handle) while still providing the benefits of the Axe handle design is truly a unique experience and is something you’ll need to try for yourself!
If you’re hesitant or not overly fond of the traditional Axe handle, the Flared knob is the PERFECT transition!
Let’s review the 2023 Axe Avenge Pro Hybrid Flared BBCOR Baseball Bat featuring the new Flared Knob:
2023 Axe Avenge Pro Hybrid BBCOR (Traditional handle and Flared Kob)
The 2023 Axe Avenge Pro Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat now comes in the traditional Axe handle as well as the Flared Knob design. All product features below are the same EXCLUDING the handle/ knob.
The Flared Knob on the new 2023 Axe Avenge Pro Hybrid BBCOR Baseball bat has parents and players excited! The 2023 Axe Avenge Pro Hybrid BBCOR Baseball bat is built as a three-piece hybrid design, combining a hot alloy barrel with a smooth as silk composite handle, the 2023 Axe Avenge Pro Hybrid gives you the best of both worlds. The really impressive part of this bat is the performance on contact. The sweet spot has been increased as well as the barrel size, extending the maximum .500 BBCOR performance zone, ESPECIALLY in the vital area closer towards the endcap where a players swing speeds are the highest. The ball seems to effortlessly jump off the barrel every time you make contact with the ball. The handle is a new, stiffer 3-piece design that increases power transfer from player to ball and eliminates virtually all vibration. The combination of this hot as fire alloy barrel, stiff 3-piece handle, and the new Flared knob, it’s easy to see why there’s such a hype behind the new 2023 Axe Avenge Pro Hybrid BBCOR Baseball bat. Below are some of the specs of this bat:
What makes the 2023 Axe Avenge Pro Hybrid:
Key 2023 Avenge Pro Hybrid Bat Features:
Here at Headbanger Sports we understand that making the switch to an Axe bat can feel a little … uncomfortable, we hear it alot. It’s not the same as a traditional bat. But one thing to remember, MLB superstars are swinging the Axe. Mookie Betts, George Springer and Kris Bryant are just a select few who have all switched over to Axe bats and never regretted the change. Besides the fact more and more MLB players are turning towards swinging Axe, the Axe handle (yes, including the new flared knob!) promotes safety, faster swing speeds and more control. If you were hesitant before, fear no more as the new Flared knob is a perfect transition. There's no need for a transition period. No adjusting your grip. No restrictions. Just pick up the bat, grip it and go. This will be one of the greatest bats you have ever swung, period.
]]>Easton is back with their all new 2023 BBCOR line up! This time, the focus is on technological advancements, and there’s a lot of them! As you know, BBCOR is strictly -3 length-to-weight ratios, 2 5/8ths inch maximum barrel diameter and no longer than 36 inches. That being said, Below are some of the main features of the new 2023 Easton BBCOR lineup.
The 2023 Easton Hype Comp BBCOR baseball Bat (short for composite) has been meticulously engineered from every feature it boasts to deliver EXPLOSIVE performance at the plate as soon as it's out of the wrapper. From knob to end-cap, the Easton Hype Comp is built to give you the highest-performing composite BBCOR bat you'll find anywhere. For this breakdown, we will start with the barrel. If you’re familiar with Easton’s Thermo Composite Technology for their barrel design from last year's Hype, you will be familiar with just how well it performs. If you’re not familiar, Easton’s Thermo Composite Barrel Technology creates a massive sweet spot utilizing the lightest material possible thus maximizing both your bat speed and explosiveness on contact. This barrel design runs from the end cap to the handle connection point, maximizing your overall sweet spot of the barrel.
At the connection point we find the well known ‘ConneXion Max’ Connection piece. This connection piece maximizes the total energy transfer from handle to barrel. To sum up, this means that EVERY ounce of power you have in your swing is transferred into the barrel providing a strong, stiff feel on contact. Easton also incorporated “Nitrocell” foam into the connection piece to dramatically reduce handle vibration. Moving down the line to the handle we have what Easton calls their “Pro-Stiff” Carbon Handle. The Pro-stiff Carbon Handle is designed with extra stiff carbon fibers allowing minimal flexibility and maximum rigidity and stiffness. Coming to the handle, Easton’s “Power Boost” Soft Knob Technology provides hitters with added leverage all while reducing overall vibration as well as providing a soft, cushiony feel for that bottom hand.
2023 Easton Encore Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat:
The 2023 Easton Encore Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat is the culmination of all of Easton’s best features and cutting edge technology pulled into one bat resulting in a 2-piece hybrid bat that will make you a force to be reckoned with when up to the plate.
Starting with the Barrel, Easton has designed a combination of their widely popular R5 Alloy Barrel technology, thinned it out by 30% and internally reinforced and backed that alloy with their Thermo Composite Technology through the whole length of the barrel. This thinning out of the alloy and reinforcing it with composite has created an ultra-thin barrel wall, larger sweet spot as well as maximizing the trampoline effect you will get when hitting all while keeping up with performance and durability. The PureLynk CXN joint, the main connection point from barrel to handle, maximizes the energy transfer and stiff feel of the Pro-Stiff carbon handle. The Pro-Stiff Carbon Handle, as stated on the Hype Comp, is designed with extra stiff carbon fibers allowing minimal flexibility and maximum rigidity and stiffness. Again, stated prior, Easton’s “Power Boost” Soft Knob Technology provides hitters with added leverage all while reducing overall vibration as well as providing a soft, cushiony feel for that bottom hand.
All of these features add up to a bat that will capture as much energy as you can produce while efficiently transferring it to the baseball, just swing, make contact and watch the ball fly.
2023 Easton Alpha ALX BBCOR Baseball Bat:
Coming in on the home stretch is Easton’s Alpha ALX BBCOR Baseball Bat. This 1-Piece alloy bat is built using the R5 Alloy material. Easton’s R5 Alloy design, used amongst other Alloy barrel designs, is a lightweight, high-performing alloy giving the bat amazing responsiveness as well as excellent durability and longevity. In combination with the R5 alloy, Easton added their Flywall Barrel design which features a ringless engineering process creating a massive sweet spot as well as a contact feel that’s smoother than silk. The “ping” sound this bat makes on contact will have everyone's heads turn and put you on the watchlist. Combining the Flow-tack grip and Power Boost Soft Knob Handle, you’ll be a force to be reckoned with.

Moving down to the connection piece, as Easton likes to call it, the “Connextion ISO” is what connects the handle to the barrel maintaining rigidity and shock absorption. Using Nitrocell foam technology for the connection piece, this greatly reduces the overall vibration while giving a stiffer feel, transferring more energy from your swing into the ball at contact than previous models. The handle itself, or the DFS Handle (Dynamic Feel System) is a stiff, carbon composite design creating a solid, stiff feel at contact while reducing the overall vibration.
The “FlowTrack” Grip used to wrap the handle is a premium grip providing cushioned Tack and a tri-color design that matches the overall bat colorway. Finally, onto the handle and its design. Easton’s “Power Boost” Soft Knob Technology is designed such that it creates improved comfort for the bottom hand as well as reducing overall vibration of the handle.
To sum up, there have been impressive improvements and focus on the reduction of overall vibration at many points of this bat, a stiffer handle and connection point for a more responsive feel, and a redesigned barrel with a greater contour to provide a larger overall sweet spot as well as a hot out of the wrapper barrel construction. Available in sizes: -11, -10, -8, -5 and is available here at Headbanger Sports on September 15th 2022.
2023 Easton ADV1 USA Baseball Bat
A new USA bat coming to the market this year, The Easton ADV1 is a single piece composite bat based off of the ADV360. A few similarities will be shown such as the Speed Cap, Barrel contour and “Launch Composite” Barrel technology, as well as the FLow-Tack grip and knob design. One notable change, as this is a one piece barrel design, is the “Carbon Zero Handle”. As this is a composite material one piece, this handle design is built from 90% carbon fiber constructed with zero-degree layup. If you're not familiar with carbon fiber laying and the direction of the weaving, Zero-degree fiber angle is the most frequently used orientation of carbon fiber weaving. When fibers are oriented in the direction of the load (zero degrees on the laying) they are the strongest and stiffest. On tubing, such as baseball bats, the zero-degree direction is along the length of the tube and contributes to bending stiffness strength.
In summary, The all new Easton ADV1 is an extremely stiff, large sweet spot, single piece composite USA baseball bat that we here at Headbanger Sports are excited to carry. This Baseball bat is available in -12 only in sizes 27, 28, 29 and 30 inch lengths.
2023 Easton Alpha ALX USA Baseball Bat
Another one piece bat to come from Easton, the Alpha ALX USA Baseball bat is an Aluminum Alloy bat that we all know and love. Last year's model was a game changer so we are expecting the same if not better performance from this year's model. Stepping away from the gold and blue colorway of last year's design, this year’s model is boasting a sleek red and black look. The R5 Alloy barrel design, as we are familiar from last year's model, is Easton’s lightweight aluminum alloy barrel design developed to provide the player with a highly responsive barrel as well as excellent durability. To aid in the alloy material used on the barrel design, Easton included their “ultralite” construction, providing a lighter overall swing weight providing the player an overall faster swing speed giving more control through the zone. Pairing with Easton’s “FlowTack” grip this will be one bat to have in your arsenal if you’re using aluminum alloy bats. Sizes available will be as a -8 and -11.
The Barrel
The barrel tends to be one of the most important focuses in baseball. The CATX barrel has gone through some major changes since last year's model from its shape down to the weight balancing. The CATX BBCOR boasts a completely re-shaped barrel profile that offers a larger sweet spot and more forgiving barrel. This barrel redesign also provides a slightly better balance, on average a half inch lower balance point. For those that aren’t familiar, the balance point of a bat (ONLY applied to BBCOR) is where the bat maintains a balanced weight from handle to endcap. If you took any bat and held it horizontally on one finger, where the bat maintains a balance relative to your finger is its balancing point.
For the CATX Senior League bats (USSSA), the Barrel has a larger overall diameter bringing the size closer to the maximum allowable limit for USSSA League play. On average, the increased size is an added 2.5mm in diameter larger, in comparison to the CAT9, allowing for a more flexible barrel which in turn generates higher overall performance.
The Handle and knob
Both the BBCOR and the Senior League (USSSA) CATX feature Marucci’s all new Liquid-Gel Dampening Knob. This new knob is designed with a precise amount of liquid-gel situated into the knob of the bat which is meant to absorb vibrations as well as sting faster and more efficiently than all previous AV2 knobs used on previous models. Simply put, a redesigned knob to further reduce sting and vibrations faster and more efficiently.
The CATX also features a new, custom-sized handle taper for every weight drop (Excluding JBB). This newly designed handle taper provides a more comfortable, ergonomic fit allowing better overall bat control.

Let's talk Alloy (USSSA and BBCOR)

With all these different types of wood bats, we understand it might seem confusing to try and understand all your options and what makes each different from the others. Here, we’ll be going over it all so you can make a more informed decision the next time you’re shopping for a wooden bat and feel more confident in your purchase.
Different models of wooden bats
When it comes to the different types of wood bats, it’s important to first identify the different models. The most common models of wooden bats are the 271 turn, 110 turn, and 243 turn. Each has different pros and cons for different hitting styles along with characteristics that will affect its swing weight and how it feels in the hand.
Different types of wood used to make wooden bats
Most people are familiar with types of wood bats like maple, ash, and birch, but as you can see, they aren’t the only kinds of wood that you can use to hit a ball out of the park.
Ash: Bats made of ash are very flexible and forgiving, allowing hitters to almost “feel” the ball as they make contact with it. Thus, bats made of ash wood are very popular with contact hitters.
Maple: When it comes to all the different types of wood bats, you can’t deny that maple is the most commonly used material. This is for good reason – maple bats offer a harder hitting surface and stiffer flex because the wood is so dense. However, this density does minimize a hitter’s control during their swing.
Birch: Birch lands right between ash and maple in terms of toughness and flexibility, making it a good choice for a versatile hitter that wants the best of both worlds.
Bamboo: Although bamboo is technically a grass, it’s still possible to make a bat out of the material that mimics the quality of a wooden bat. In fact, bamboo bats are actually very strong and durable. But because the material is not really wood, bamboo bats are not approved by the MLB, and they will require a BBCOR certification mark for organized play.
Hickory: Hickory used to be the most popular of all the different types of wood bats, but because it’s so heavy and hard and doesn’t offer much flexibility, it was replaced by other woods as the game evolved.
Composite wood: As the name suggests, composite bats are bats made from a blend of two or more wood types. The bat inherits some of the characteristics of whatever wood types are combined to make it.
Now that you know the differences in bats, from models to wood types, you’re ready to choose which type of wood bat works best for you. Shop our selection of baseball slowpitch and fastpitch bats for the bat that suits you best today!]]>

Therefore, while there are some rules you can follow to find a good bat for a youth player, you will need to become more comfortable with flexibility. As your younger player grows, he or she may change in preference for bats.
The first thing you can do when you are picking out baseball bats for youth players is assure yourself of the length that works for the younger player. Unlike weight, weight drop, and material, there are actual metrics you can follow here to ensure that a bat is fitting to a player.
There are a couple of ways you can go about ensuring whether or not a bat is properly sized to a player. Have the youth player pick up the bat in question. One way you can check the length of the bat is to have the player place the knob of the bat against their chest at the juncture of their arm. The player should be able to extend their arm outward wrap their fingers around the middle of the barrel, around the midpoint, or a little bit farther.
Alternatively, you could have the player stand with their arms outstretched to the sides. With the knob placed in the middle of the chest and laid outward along the arms, the bat should reach just about to the fingertips. There are other ways to assure yourself that the length of the bat is fitting, but these two methods will work in nearly any scenario.
Next is weight, and you need to ensure that the weight of a bat is not too heavy for a player before you even get into balance and weight drop. Once you settle on a bat in terms of length, have the baseball player pick up the bat and hold it either forward or to the side of their body with one arm outstretched, with the bat parallel to the ground.
The youth player should be able to hold the bat extended for a minimum of thirty seconds, although some others will tell you that he or she should be able to hold the bat extended for at least a minute. Young players should be comfortable doing so or the bat will probably end up being too heavy for them; however, the unique situation here is that youth league players will get stronger as they grow, so you can go with a bat that is just a little bit too heavy with the intent to let the player grow into it.
If the bat is sized and weighted properly, you can start to get into the length to weight ratio of the bat that will affect the swing weight and is also known as weight drop. A bat with a low weight drop will feel heavier and a bat with a high weight drop will feel lighter. Since younger players may now know whether they prefer a higher or lower weight drop this is something they will learn over time. Lighter bats handle better and allow the player to achieve a higher swing speed, so for some young players, a high weight drop may be preferable. Just keep in mind that some players may grow to appreciate heavier bats as they get older and stronger, as these bats will enable them to drive more power through their swing.
In our collection of youth bats, you will find plenty of options from some of the best manufacturers in the industry, offering unique combinations of bat features. Whether you are looking for a shorter bat with a heavy swing weight or a light bat with a big sweet spot, you can find it in our collection. You just need to get to shopping to find it. ]]>That is to say that no two bats are the same and that each and every bat manufacturer worth its salt pays a respectable amount of money, time, and attention to its processes. Bat manufacturers take price in their precision manufacturing as well as in the research that goes into every bat they produce.
Since players have so many different skills and strengths, there are bats out there that cater to the needs of heavy hitters, those that prefer a lighter, more responsive, balanced bat, and much more. Players also have preferences in material and other factors as well as in handling, complicating the matter of selecting a bat.
That’s why producers like DeMarini offer such a wide range of bats not only for baseball but for fastpitch and slowpitch softball that appeals to so many different needs. Whether you love an endload or a well-balanced bat, there are DeMarini bats that will fit the bill, and here are some of the highlights from our collection.
Some baseball players love a quick and responsive bat for quick, precision hitting that is designed to get them on base or get the players on base home. Others, like power hitters, prefer heavy, end-loaded bats that enable them to drive all their power into the swing so they can drain the load bases through home plate. Check out some of these top picks from our collection of DeMarini bats.
2020 DeMarini CF Zen Glitch (-8) USSSA Limited Edition Baseball Bat

This crowd-pleaser comes with a lot of laurels that make it highly appealing to a lot of players; if nothing else, it’s critical acclaim and stellar ratings on the product page should serve as a testament to its quality.
This may be a drop 8 bat, but it comes with a few features that make it feel impressively well balanced, so it’s desirable to players that are looking for a good combination between the feel of a heavy bat and one that is more balanced.
It also comes with a 3Fusion handle that is stiff enough to provide great feel and responsiveness through the handle while allowing for enough flex through the barrel to drive hits home.
The Paraflex+ Composite Construction of the barrel allows for an excellent balance between the reactivity of the bat and the compression that is required to drive seriously powerful hits. This bat even comes with interesting features that are intended to reduce the sting of mishits, like its X-Lite Knob.
All in all, this is a serious DeMarini bat that required a lot of development and incorporates a lot of cutting edge technology. It’s great for hitters that will appreciate a balanced bat that is still able to perform in the same league as more heavily end-loaded models.
2020 DeMarini Voodoo Balanced (-10) USSSA Baseball Bat
This bat, like the above entry, capitalizes on some serious cutting edge technology to deliver a finished bat that is equally capable of satisfying a large range of tastes. It’s also a good balance between a composite and an alloy bat that brings about the lightness and strength of both materials in a hybrid.
It has a relatively balanced feel to the swing weight and comes with the same 3Fusion technology as the above model which balances the benefits of a stiff feel and flexibility, as well as the Paraflex+ Composite Handle that makes the bat not only tougher but able to offer heightened performance.
As far as the barrel of this bat is concerned, it comes with a 2 ¾ inch diameter construction, which is super adequate in size, and it is made of X14 alloy which is extremely tough and resilient, for long-standing performance that will not diminish over time.
This bat might be called balanced, but just by looking at a picture of it, which is featured above, you can see that this bat has a wide barrel and is stacked toward the end cap, which means that balanced or not, you’re going to be able to put a lot of power behind the swing. Check out the page listing for more information, and if you have any other questions, get in touch with our team.
2020 DeMarini The Goods BBCOR (-3) Baseball Bat
Here is an excellent example of a DeMarini baseball bat that is built specifically to appeal to power hitters. This hybrid bat, which comes with a composite handle and an alloy barrel, is built with performance in mind. Heavy hitters will love the end-loaded feel of this bat; just picking one up you can almost feel the power you can drive into it.
It also comes with the 3Fusion technology and the Paraflex+ Composite technology of the former models. These features give the bat unbelievable sensitivity, which, when paired with its end load, makes it absolutely deadly over the plate.
It also comes with proprietary technology in its end cap known as a Seismic End Cap, which, when paired with the compression and flexibility of the barrel, as well as the end-load of the bat, will enable hitters to load an enormous amount of energy into the ball on contact with the bat.
All in all, what it lacks in balance it makes up for with its endload which is built for the ultimate in performance. It also features an extremely tough construction and is built to last, and players won’t help but to be caught by its incontestable visual appeal.
DeMarini Slowpitch Softball Bats
In addition to a respectable collection of DeMarini baseball bats, we also keep a top-flight of picks from DeMarini’s lineup of slowpitch softball bats. Get some in-depth information on some of the features of highlights from our collection below.
2021 DeMarini Nihilist OG ASA Slowpitch Softball Bat
This is another bat that is also easy on the eyes as well as being geared toward the tastes of heavy hitters. Among the technology enhancing features that this bat comes along with are its ZnX alloy handle and Continuous Fiber Technology that constitute the barrel.
The ZnX alloy handle is made with zinc and aluminum to increase not only the stiffness but also the strength of the barrel. This results not only in a tougher bat but also one that flexes less through the handle in order to improve sensitivity and control.
Speaking of toughness, the continuous fiber that makes up the barrel of this bat not only makes it tougher but improves its compressibility as well. That gives this bat a rock-solid handle as well as a seriously tough barrel that can take a beating and keep on delivering amazing compression for impressive results. The gapped wall technology that is included in the barrel only helps this along further by improving compressibility.
On that note, this bat comes with a respectable end load that capitalizes on the huge sweet spot of this bat, and, along with its impressive compressibility, makes the bat all the more capable in the hands of a heavy hitter.
2020 DeMarini RD Balanced Senior Slowpitch Softball Bat
In contrast to the bat above, this one offers a more balanced feel through the swing, which can be a bonus to precision hitters who look to hit the bullseye in their mind with every pass over the plate. Extremely sensitive, predictable, and responsive, this bat is exactly what precision hitters will look for in a bat.
Like the model above, this bat comes with a stiff handle that improves stiffness, sensitivity, and control, only in this bat, it is all the more useful to a precision hitter. At the same time, it also comes with the Continuous Fiber technology mentioned above, which improves the strength and compressibility of the bat. That serves to make it tougher while at the same time adding a little more power to a swing that might otherwise focus on accuracy than distance.
All in all, it’s one of the best options out there in a responsive bat for slowpitch softball players. Whether you have tasted more closely aligned with the preferences of a heavy hitter or you like to drive tacks with your swings, there is something between this bat and the bat mentioned immediately prior for you to love.
DeMarini Fastpitch Softball Bats
We wouldn’t be able to complete our listing of some of these impressive DeMarini bats without giving you a look into what we could offer fastpitch softball players. Start here, and if you’re looking for something more, or just something different, check our collection of DeMarini fastpitch softball bats via the link above.
2020 DeMarini Prism (-11) Fastpitch Softball Bat

Following in the footsteps of the last slowpitch bat we investigated, this is another excellently balanced bat that quick hitters and precision hitters will all love. Also, like so many other DeMarini fastpitch bats, this thing is loaded down with features in place of weight.
The barrel makes every bit of its Continuous Fiber and Gapped Wall technologies, which work hand in hand to improve not only the durability but also the performance of the bat. Though this bat will feel balanced and light in the hands, you might be surprised by the power you can put behind it.
It also comes with 3Fusion technology in the handle as well as a 3Fusion End Cap. Together, these features take the bat’s performance up a notch. The handle is stiffer and gives the bat a more responsive feel, and the end cap gives you the ability to capitalize on every last iota of energy behind a swing. In addition, this bat has been engineered to help remove the sting from mishits. Overall, it’s a great bat for tack-driving batters and also young batters learning to make the switch from a balanced bat to an end-loaded model.
2020 DeMarini FNX Rising (-8) Fastpitch Softball Bat
For serious fastpitch players looking for a bat to give them slightly more end-loaded performance, this might be the bat to go with. It’s not optimized for heavy hitters alone - but for a mix between the elements that make a bat responsive and those that make it powerful, it would be very difficult to beat this bat.
Unlike the other bats on this list, this one comes with what is called a Parastack Composite Barrel that is extremely stiff for unparalleled for feel and responsiveness; however, this construction also vests the barrel with more mass, which improves its end load and makes it much more capable in the hands of heavy hitters.
It also comes with a Direct Connection Handle that not only provides unparalleled feedback through the swing but also allows for a great deal of energy to be put behind the bat, despite its relatively low flexibility. This, coupled with some of the bat’s other features, make it a real blessing for hitters who are right in the middle between immeasurable power and uncompromised control. Give one a swing if you can find it; you’ll see what we mean.

]]>With the CAT Series continuing to grow in popularity, we and obviously you.... are extremely excited for the CAT9 this year. With the sick teaser video #maruccisports did on their insta the other day, we're finally able to show pictures to everyone! The secret has been killing us and we can't lie we've definitely showed a few locals, but now the pictures are out and we're free to show the world!
The new Marucci CAT9 launch begins August 21st directly from Marucci, and then we'll finally and yes I mean FINALLY get to launch this beautiful bat on August 31st. The CAT9 Connect BBCOR bats won't be available until roughly 9/3/2020. We will not be pre-ordering as we'll sell out to fast, but we'll be posting them on the site soon for notifications to be sent to you for our August 31st Midnight Eastern Release!

Let's get down to the nitty gritty on specs and details and the Q&A we're sure you're all looking for.
Q1. What is the difference between the Marucci CAT8 and the new CAT9?
A1. The CAT9 is fabricated using Marucci's newest AZR aluminum. The AZR aluminum has the same strength as the previous AZ105 aluminum that was used to build the CAT8, however it has a MUCH more responsive microstructure for better performance across the entire barrel. The BBCOR version of the CAT9 additionally features their newest technology, the Longitudinal Groove System or LGS. The LGS is a set of grooves that runs longitudinally across the thickest wall section allowing for specific weight re-location and more flexibility at the sweet spot.

Q2. Is the CAT9 balanced or end-loaded?
A2. The CAT9 is a precision balanced, one-piece alloy design with a medium M.O.I.
Q3. Is the CAT9 more for contact-hitters or power-hitters?
A3. Both power-hitters and contact-hitters would enjoy the CAT9. The stiffer flex of the one-piece alloy design will be beneficial for power-hitters while the balanced design with medium M.O.I. will be a good fit for contact-hitters.
Q4. Are there any rings or governors inside the CAT9?
A4. No, the CAT9 line features a ring-free barrel design, creating no “dead spots” and increasing performance.
Q5. What sizes are available from the CAT9 line?
A5. The CAT9 is available in -3 BBCOR which as always is a 2 5/8" Barrel. As well as the typical 2 ¾” -5, -8 and -10 Senior League, and 2 ¾” -10 Junior Big Barrel. (We were secretly hoping that the -5 would come in a 2 5/8" Barrel Too!)
Q6. What Sanction is the CAT9 Legal for Play?
A6. The Senior League CAT9 (-10, -8, and -5 models) and Junior Big Barrel (-10) models of the CAT9 are approved and legal for play in all USSSA Sanctioned Leagues and Tournaments. The Marucci CAT9 BBCOR (-3) is legal for play in all High School, JR/SR Little League, and other NFHS Sanctioned Events.

Growth comes in a variety of forms. Yes, your child will grow up during this time and add height and weight from a physical standpoint. They will also grow in their abilities.
Baseball is a sport where you can work on a lot of small skills that make you a better player on your own or one-on-one with a coach or parent. You can take extra swings in a batting cage or have a parent or coach throw to you in extended batting practice. You can get fielding practice with the help of training aids or coaches. In addition to honing your skills and getting some quality practice time, having the right equipment can help your child succeed and build confidence.
For better success at the plate, you want to find the right bat for your child. There can be a large selection of baseball bats for youth on the market, but without the proper sizing based on your child’s height and weight, the bat you purchase could actually hurt your child’s performance and development more than you think.
The two elements that need to be considered most when you are buying baseball bats for youth players is the length and weight of the bat. The length of the bat will help to provide extra reach through the strike zone, serving as an extension of the arms that allow for players to reach pitches on both sides of the plate. If a bat is too long for a player, their swing can be prolonged and it can make it difficult and uncomfortable to swing.
The same goes for the weight of the bat. A bat that is too heavy will be too difficult to swing and make it a struggle for your child to catch up to pitches that are thrown with more speed and power as other players get stronger. A bat that is too light can lead to wild swings that are too fast. Additionally, a bat that is too light will not produce the best results because there is not enough weight in the bat to really have an effect on the ball when contact is made. You don’t get the full results when a bat is too light for the athlete.
A bat that is properly sized for an athlete of any age will first and foremost feel comfortable in their hands. The athlete should feel like they have complete control of the bat and can maintain that control through the swing and keep their grip. Additionally, a bat that is the right length and weight will allow the athlete to keep a balanced swing. This allows you to drive the ball and not wildly attempt to make contact in hopes of turning that into success at the plate.
This is especially important for children who are just being introduced to the sport or just starting to grow and develop in the game. As they grow, you want to make the proper adjustments to larger-sized bats so that they can continue to feel the same comfort on every swing and keep that balance that allows them to make solid contact. This builds confidence for the player and leads to a much more enjoyable experience.

]]>The first Louisville Slugger was made in 1884 and 10 years later was registered for a US patent. The company would be changed forever when in 1905, Hall of Famer Honas Wagner signed a marketing deal to have his name used on a bat. That started a practice that has continued to this day for numerous Hall of Famers like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb, Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams to legends of the 1970s and 1980s like Johnny Bench, Hank Aaron, George Brett and Tony Gwynn, to modern-day stars like Ken Griffey Jr. and Derek Jeter.
The name and reputation of Louisville Slugger bats were so synonymous with baseball that it became the official bat supplier of Major League Baseball starting in 1997. From wood bats at the professional level to aluminum bats in Little League, the Louisville Slugger name is everywhere.
Over the course of their long history, Louisville Slugger has manufactured over 100 million bats to become the most popular brand in baseball history. That has not changed over recent years. Players of all ages are using wood and aluminum bats from Louisville Slugger.
With such a long and prosperous history in the game, the question should not be whether to choose Louisville Slugger bats, but how to choose the right one. Choosing the right bat is an important decision. You know you have the right bat when you find the comfort that allows you to have a smooth swing and make solid contact with the ball so that you get the best performance.
The two most important factors in choosing a bat are the length and width of the bat. The weight should be chosen based on the size and strength of the player. Players that are bigger and strong will prefer a bat that is heavier so they can maximize power in their swing. Smaller players prefer a lighter bat for more control and faster bat speed so that they still make solid contact and get the performance from the bat.
Similarly, the length of the bat is important because you need to maintain control of your swing while still maximizing your coverage so you can reach pitches that may be on the outside part of the plate. Usually, the length and weight of a bat are incremental. A longer bat will carry more weight. So if you want a bat that is longer for better coverage of the plate, you need to make sure you can handle the weight. It is only with the perfect combination that you can reach peak performance.
There are other factors to consider when choosing a baseball bat like the barrel diameter and drop ratio. You should also consider the league you are playing in and if there are any requirements or regulations.
